Meet The Team
We are FTC team 18270 RoboPlayers, Located in Irving, TX. This is our 4th year competing in FTC and we are a 8 member team.

Skanda
Team Captain, Founder, Lead Designer/CAD, Lead Programmer Junior at RL Turner I started RoboPlayers in 2020 as a 7th grader. Prior to that, I participated in FLL for 5 years and was a top scoring team in multiple qualifiers and championships. My FLL innovation projects were nominated to Global Innovation Awards 3 times in a row from North Texas. I now teach FLL competition level classes every Saturday and taught over 50 students over last two years. I love to CAD and enjoy designing our FTC robot. I have been the lead designer and programmer for the past 2 years. Our robot performance and programming advanced us to the World Championships in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons. I co-authored three papers in international journals on use of CAD and 3D printing. I enjoy playing the classical Indian flute.

Arka
Lead Builder, Scouting Lead Freshman at Newman Smith This is my 2nd year on the team. I participated in FLL for 6 years and won North Texas Regional Championship in 2022. I am mastering the art of robot design and learning Java programming. I was also the lead programmer and builder in Botball, another robotics competition where my team won the Texas State Championship in 2023. In addition to robotics, I love to play tennis with my friends and learn classical Indian music.

Akhil
I am Akhil, CAD designer, Hardware Builder and
Programmer. Freshmen at Flower mound high school.
This is currently my second year on Roboplayers. I also participated in FLL and ranked number 1 in robot matches at regionals. I love to design robots
and create designs of mechanisms in FTC. I am programming FTC robots and currently working on
roadrunner, a pathing tool used in FTC.

Nick
Motive Lead, CAD and design, Hardware, Team artist, Texas State champion for FLL, 1 year of FTC. I go to Carroll High School in Southlake, TX as a freshman. I love getting my hands dirty with various hands on activities from making sketches to manufacturing robots. I enjoy playing saxophone in marching band and piano at home. I have recently started learning how to CAD with Onshape and really enjoy designing new intakes. In the 2023-2024 season (Masterpeice) of FLL our team “The Pythoneers” ending up getting the Texas state championship and the “Breakthrough Award” at the world competition.

Sanjay
Documentation Lead, CAD & Design, 1 year in FTC. I am a Senior at RL Turner High School and I've been in robotics for the past 5 years. I'm the captain of my school's state-qualifying BEST team and founder/captain of my school's rookie VEX team. I am the founder of my Carrollton's SteelCityCodes chapter, where I teach kids game development in python and java. I am currently learning different pathing algorithms and working on improving our robot design/strategy to maximize points earned in teleop. Outside of school and FTC, I love to swim and play volleyball with my friends!

Sanjeev
I am Wanni, programmer. I’m in 8th grade in Rice Middle School. This is my 4th year in FLL, and my first year on Roboplayers. I won the State Championship Competition in the 2023-24 season, and received the Breakthrough Award at the World Championships. I enjoy working hands-on with robots, and love getting to know more about the work and code behind functioning bots. Along with robotics, I also play the cello and dance.
